(Blog on…019) FROM BUDDHA TO EINSTEIN

Buddha taught nothing should be accepted on faith alone. To benefit from any kind of truth we must experience it and verify it directly. Aware experience, not thought, is the all-important essence in our search for truth.

Clearly the Buddha was not a religious teacher, but a scientist, who gained his knowledge through personal experiment based upon the laws of Nature. William Hart, the author of the book The Art Of Living, which carries the teachings of Buddha, wrote the following: The only real refuge in life, the only solid ground on which to take a stand, the only authority that can give proper guidance and protection – is truth. Truth is the all-important, not the person who teaches it. Dhamma – the law of Nature, experienced and verified by oneself.

The Buddha often emphasised, that he was not the first nor last of the awakened. Some twenty-five centuries later another great scientist presented his revolutionary theories and stated: The only absolute truth is the law of Nature. His name was Albert Einstein. Perhaps unknown to some, Einstein believed in intuition and inspiration. He believed in the unseen, in the power of the individual human mind and its ability to influence the course of events. He believed knowledge is limited, while imagination encircles the world.
