(Blog on…32) THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

Why are we here? What is our purpose? What is it all about?

Most people plan for a job or a career, to earn some money, settle down, start a family and this should (they hope or so they have been told) lead to happiness. Of course, we soon discover reality is never straightforward and those who eventually find happiness (or are naturally happy) realize that happiness is not a goal, but a continuous path. (More about happiness some other time).

Today I want to ask the following question: Is happiness the goal of life? Are we born to work, progress, find happiness and then simply die into oblivion? Is there a definite goal to life or are we perhaps on a continuous path? I dedicated my life to researching such dilemmas.

Later this year I will release a book entitled “The Unfinished Book About Who We Are”, where I will lay out my journey, examine scientific, religious and philosophical wisdom, the various teachings, as well as many realizations I encountered on the way. Here are a few simple insights:

–        Today we know incredible detail about the Universe and who we are, but ultimately every truth is relative. For every new discovery ten new questions appear, thus our journey is forever unfinished.

–        One who searches openly and sincerely will come to appreciate, that something limited, as the human mind, can never understand something infinite, as the truth or the Universe or God etc.

–        Biological evolution has been superseded by conscious evolution. But the mind too is an obstacle upon our journey. Certain things simply cannot be learned – they must be experienced!

In view of everything said above the only way forward remains through personal growth. The purpose of life therefore is always – to learn, to grow and to prosper. Growth is our salvation. Not through ignorance, hope or blind faith, but through open and sincere examination of the truth.

The possibilities we face today are simply incredible and fascinating. I dedicated my life to sharing these possibilities with the world. What I discovered is far more exhilarating than any traditional dogma can offer. My excitement is impossible to explain, hence I have been working on practical applications. It is my sincere wish that we each individually give ourselves the opportunity, openly and sincerely, to discover the truth about the world we live in and who we truly are. Most of all, we must allow ourselves (not others or some authority) to guide us. Why? Because we each individually are the center of our Universe. One who seeks also holds the answers.

HI. Thank you for your comment. First step is to accept this journey is not about life and death, it’s about birth and death. Next thing I’d like to say that life is eternal, but this is such a strong statement, which took me a lifetime to understand, so I’m not sure if this is the right place… a thorough examination of human wisdom is required to grasp life in its wider complexity… only then we can talk about concepts, such as eternity etc…
