Life is an amazing experience and I make a point of celebrating it continuously, every single day, with friends, family, partners, children, strangers, beings. But on my birth-day I switch off the phones, lock the doors and take a few extra long hours to myself. I love to reflect upon everything that I truly am from an even deeper, more open and sincere point of view… look for new avenues of appreciation, inspiration, understanding, responsibility, co-creation…

We are not just alive, we are aware of being alive and aware of being aware! This can only demand responsibility. Clearly Nature is training us for something stupendously important and at this stage of evolution it is our duty to become fully alert. To become present, open and sincere. We gave this process fancy names: the awakening, enlightenment, salvation, self-realization, the end of suffering and so on. But words are just pointers. The actual doing is much simpler, because there is nothing to do, but to simply “be” who we already, truly are.

I realize many of you know many important things, but most of you are also very busy people and that’s only natural. So I dedicated my life to accumulating what I believe to be the most fundamental wisdom of Who We Are and The Way It Is, and combine it into a book, which (I came to understand) can never be finished. So I named it THE UNFINISHED BOOK ABOUT WHO WE ARE. The purpose is NOT to teach anybody anything, but to simply remind ourselves, efficiently and consistently, that right now, right here, we are each individually and collectively a manifestation of the truth, the purpose and the meaning of life, the center of the universe, an expression of the Absolute; we are God*.

For my birthday I have a simple wish: That we spend more time exploring and understanding and less time accumulating and ignoring; more time loving and appreciating and less time hating and separating; that we finish writing the unfinished book. We can use whatever names or terms make us most comfortable, but we must stop resisting what is and allow ourselves to be who we truly are. We can begin today by being the change we want to see… then let our hearts take flight. Somehow our hearts inherently know the steps that constitute the path.
