72. WHY DO YOU WEAR BLACK?

This was a question that landed in my message box: Why do you wear black? My first thought was this: “The Universe is mainly dark, so I wear black, cos I go with the Universe.”

No, seriously… of course, I was being humorous, as usual, but there’s always much truth in casual joking… the reality is that my favorite colors are white, anything beige/brownish and blueish, and black… I love wearing black, cos it looks good on me, or so I have convinced myself… especially when going out for the evening…

But there’s another side to the whole topic of black and dark… my mother, a student of Sai Baba, would never wear black, because she believes it radiates negative influence… after all, black is the color of evil… isn’t it? …or, at least, is associated with evil and dark forces… and if I’m going to be writing about spiritual matters I really shouldn’t be wearing black… hmm?!

When we get rid of the box, then there remains just a  simple understanding… here are my thoughts:

There is no darkness… there is only absence of light… or, I should say, darkness is a result of absence of photons, the particles that mediate light… also, I really feel we live in a time, when humanity is gearing up for a major shift forward… at least, a part of humanity… and this shift will include the dismantling of many dogmas, superstitions and senseless associations, such as black is the color of evil, or number 13 is unlucky, or never allow a black cat to cross your path and so forth… it’s about time we let black cats off the hook hehe…

To summarize: We are learning that consciousness inherently seeks growth, hence we are here to grow and prosper… and progress is a result of responsible, efficient action… or, as I call it in the book: Responsible Co-Creation…

End Note: We really have to STOP being HYPOCRITES… either we go back to using horses and camels, or it’s time we embrace the present… to use the cell-phones, to surf the internet, to fly around in airplanes and to make use of all sorts of new technology and understandings, while at the same time abiding by the millennia old superstition, just makes no sense and it’s insulting… it’s insulting to others, and it’s especially insulting to the self… It’s time to break the many spells… to look beyond… and to re-discover Who We Truly Are.
