(Blog on… 002) EXPLAINING PRIMORDIAL ESSENCE; THE ABSOLUTE!

“Death leads to original state of awareness. The only trouble is we would like to know beforehand what it is that we would be aware of!” (The unfinished book)

The word consciousness is overused and often misinterpreted. With expansion of our understanding this term has now become too narrow to encompass the whole and too loose to define with accuracy. In The Unfinished Book About Who We Are we discuss consciousness as an expression of primordial essence. This essence is the original state of isness. Think of it as absolute knowingness, the original state of beingness or in short – the Absolute.

Knowingness cannot be compared to knowledge, because to have knowledge of something is to consciously consider something. Knowledge is caused, while the Absolute is uncaused. The essence of the Absolute is not a result or a reflection, but a state of isness. It is as it is, always has been and always will be. It has no need for knowledge, for it encompasses everything that is, including nothingness and unknowingness. It is nothingness expressed through infinite potential for somethingness. Everything that is, or is not, ultimately arises out of the Absolute. It cannot be substantiated, therefore it cannot be learned nor defined, it can only be experienced. .

The science of physics does not accept the concept of infinity. Equally, the idea that everything has a beginning also makes no sense. Who or what created the initial beginning? What was there before? We resolve this dilemma by defining the primordial essence from which everything arises. We call it the Absolute, the original state of isness. The word Absolute is used for the purpose of naming it, but the name is not it. Something limited, as the word, can never define something unlimited, as the Absolute. Unlimited does not suggest endless time, infinite space or boundless form. It suggests no time, no space and no form.

Consciousness is an expression of this original state. Consciousness is caused, thus it’s of something. Human consciousness is a state of awareness experienced by and through human beings. It’s our personal expression of the Absolute, which guides us and arises through us as a continuous experience. Consciousness is the tool we employ in our search for truth, meaning of life and who we are. Combining consciousness with experience is essential for learning, growing and prospering and a precondition for experiencing a state of being who we truly are.
