Fundamental to physics, the second law of thermodynamics predicts that matter and energy over time disintegrate to dis-order. This disintegration is the boiling core that propels all change; it leads to chaos as it leads to growth.

Nature always seeks balance. To counteract possible degradation of the material world we must presume Nature designed a counter-measure, a sophisticated repair mechanism, which seeks out anomalies or disorder and repairs them. This is how Nature maintains balance on a universal scale.

Could conscious beings be nature’s solution to disorder? Could this be the future of who we are: Responsible and highly optimized co-creators of the Universe? Could fulfilling such a role be the next stage in human evolution and perhaps our ultimate purpose?
