95. YOU HAVE THE POWER TO TURN CHAOS INTO ORDER
Our growing capacity to handle knowledge, responsibly and efficiently, is turning randomness, or so-called “chance” occurrences, into conscious and educated choices. Whether this was intentional or not, our reality can no longer be compared to a roulette. Instead, we are now playing a game reminiscent of Monopoly or Scrabble, no longer ruled by chance or luck, but by intelligent, aware decisions. In short, we possess the power to influence and thus co-create reality. What does this mean in real-life terms?
We are turning chaos into order!
Upon hearing this claim, physicists will be quick to point out the second law of thermodynamics, which states that our Universe is inherently oriented toward chaos and disorder, or entropy.[i] Eventually, given enough time, everything will naturally disintegrate into chaos and disorder. But here’s the kicker! This is not true of consciousness! Consciousness inherently seeks expansion, improvement, and growth in complexity.
Darwin arguably wrote the most important book of our time, but his theory of evolution does not account for consciousness and as such, it cannot be accurately implemented into modern social enterprises. Furthermore, Darwin’s findings were misinterpreted by the likes of Herbert Spencer, a prominent 18th-century philosopher who coined the term “survival of the fittest,” suggesting that Nature favors fittest individuals in the physical or biological sense.
In contrast to this, Darwin advocated “whole communities, which are most fitted or suitable to any particular environment.” Clearly, Darwin saw prosperity as a “collective” occurrence, and a result of consorted action or collaboration which, when combined with the evolution of consciousness, is now setting a new stage in the evolution of humanity, and awakening us to the importance of responsibility and subsequently, efficiency.
IN SUMMARY: As a species, we have made a giant leap from Nature toward nurture. This fact is seen everywhere in real life and as a result we today enjoy safer and more comfortable and productive lives than our ancestors did a thousand years ago.
