121. WHY SEEKING FREEDOM IS DANGEROUS
We are a society obsessed with mind and data processing. We naively believe that information is power. As a result of such a mentality, we KNOW a lot but UNDERSTAND very little, which is clearly visible in our dysfunctional behavior. This is why the Unfinished Book focuses not on knowing, but on UNDERSTANDING the world and who we truly are. As Einstein put it: “Any fool can know. The point is to understand.” And our understanding is often very weak.

Let’s examine our understanding of FREEDOM as an example:

Oxford Dictionary defines freedom as: “The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.” This is our “knowledge” of what freedom means. But what does such freedom mean in real life? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out, that in an organized society our definition of freedom quickly leads to chaos and anarchy. Hmmm?!

Put simply, our striving for freedom is dangerous, yet we worship it as our basic right and use the word sparingly as if we actually “understand” what we’re talking about. This is because we “know” what the word means. However, a genuine “understanding” requires a far deeper introspection.

Let me propose this: We are NOT actually looking for freedom. WE ARE LOOKING FOR INNER LIBERATION. What does this mean?

While freedom is all about us affecting the OUTER WORLD, Liberation is about going within and re-discovering the INNER WORLD: who we truly are. Put simply, Liberation is about establishing coherence with the TRUTH of the Self and then projecting this TRUTH outward in the “right” way.

Here’s the definition and a deeper understanding of what the word “Liberation” actually means and how it relates to freedom:

LIBERATION IS THE FREEDOM TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

Just imagine, to be so totally FREE that you always do what is RIGHT!? That truly is a definition of ultimate FREEDOM.

Words, such as Freedom, Life, Reality, Death, Infinity, God and so forth, carry a substantial meaning and thus require a deeper understanding of the world and of who we truly are. We should be careful when we use such words in a definitive manner. Think about the above proposition and let’s make this world better and freer. Let’s get Liberated! Let’s re-discover Who We Truly Are. Let’s do what is RIGHT <3
