For most of my life I was considered an outcast… I’d often go against the system or against the so-called “usual way of doing things”, or I wouldn’t follow orders, or I’d just generally do things that were considered weird… for example, I’d play more and worry less… my teachers saw that as a BIG problem… I’d make more and give it away carelessly… I’d research unusual things and talk about stuff that shocked the so-called normal people… I’d develop a painful, incurable illness, or stand up against injustice, or speak the truth in someone’s face, especially when it was inconvenient for truth to be spoken… “you can’t say that” or “you’re just crazy,” they would tell me…

And I couldn’t and wouldn’t defend the accusations… I had to face it, I was different… and most of my family were different, or so it seemed… both of my parents were, and still are, so-called unconventional individuals… I dropped out of school, I continued to do and dream the so-called impossible, and I never held a so-called regular job… I use the word “so-called” , because I could never quite understand the so-called limitations imposed upon us by the so-called society or the so-called knowledge-able people… not to mention, I shook my head and I squinted my eyes… for sure: I was, and continued to, be – crazy!

But this business of being CRAZY is now becoming increasingly difficult… you see, these days it’s NORMAL to study and not to know what the hell you’re gonna do with your academic degree… and if you’re lucky to get a job in your vocation, it’s NORMAL to do a job of two people and keep the other unemployed or struggling on a low wage…

And it’s NORMAL to harm the (only habitable) planet and keep everyone competing against each other, and at war and in fear, because that is just the way it is (read: good for business) …it’s also NORMAL to promote unhealthy stuff, which is slowly killing billions of people, while we sell them drugs and expensive insurance policies… what could be more normal?

These days it’s NORMAL to feed our children invented stories about Santa Clause and Peter Pan, instead of telling them about the amazing truth of the Universe, or about the magical properties of light, or that they too are the wizards and destined to co-create “their” world and so on… as they get a bit older, it’s NORMAL to stuff our children with tons of information, but refrain from educating them about the importance of emotional intelligence, or point out their spiritual qualities, or teach them how to responsibly apply the knowledge they possess etc…

Today it’s NORMAL to have a 2 party political system, with both sides being sponsored by the wealthy corporations, and convince everyone that this is how democracy is done… It’s normal for politicians to promise things during the elections and then change their minds hahaha… everybody just accepts it as “the way it is” or NORMAL…

Today it’s NORMAL to have the abundance of the world in the hands of the few, while the rest waste their lives working 24/7 to feed their families… It’s NORMAL to have the man-made laws dictate the truth, instead of the truth dictating the laws… and it’s NORMAL to get old at 60 and die of some disease, because dis-ease, they convince us, is what is normal… “you don’t want to get sick and old? What’s wrong with you?! It’s normal!” they say… 

Yeah, I guess I’ll just have to accept it… being crazy is becoming increasingly difficult… because CRAZY IS THE NEW NORMAL!
