We seem to be running in circles in search of that perfect love or person that will make our dreams come true. Yet, there is nowhere to run and no one to find – but oneself. Every question seeks the answer and inevitably leads within. We want to know, to discover, to understand. But to know love we must know its essence. Is it devotion? Gratitude? Sincerity? Perhaps a commitment to do whatever it takes? No. The essence of love we have come to know and understand – is addiction.

We are addicted to the experience of a blissful sensation we refer to as being in love. The overwhelming emotion is so blinding that we believe we are having a divine experience, when really we are merely experiencing a process of chemical reactions in our body. Due to our unconscious behaviour and overall dysfunction we convinced ourselves our addiction to love is the greatest gift of being human. But this understanding is simply a result of our blindness.

Love is not Divine. It’s a beautiful experience made possible by a physical body. The reason we have a Divine experience is not because of love, but because we are an expression of Divine. Within our spirit flows the essence of true love. When we step beyond the addiction we unveil the vertical dimension, the depth of who we truly are. There awaits us true love, the essence of our beingness. We cannot find it or own it, we must simply bring it forth, thus be it.

When we become aware of who we truly are we awaken to the truth, thus begin to see and experience true love in everyone and everything we sense, think, say and do. True Love, not love, is our opening into Divine and who we truly are.
