Sorry, this is a provocative title. I mean no harm, just want to debate the TRUTH. The original title was: RELIGION IS A AN EMOTIONAL DECISION. This is the message I’d like everyone to take in, because it represents a truly important TRUTH about WHO WE ARE. Let me explain.

When talking about Religion the faithful like to talk about the “KNOWLEDGE” of God. Of course, we all know that nobody truly KNOWS God. The “limited” can never truly know the “unlimited.” So, what we are actually discussing is someone’s FAITH. In short, religion is all about FAITH. But how does one become religious?

The faithful will tell you religion makes SENSE. The truth, however, is that not much in religion is based on sense, but on plain FAITH. As soon as we start looking for sense, we are met with nonsense and contradiction. A closer examination reveals that becoming religious is an EMOTIONAL DECISION, not a logical one. It all comes down to the TWO PRIME EMOTIONS: LOVE AND FEAR. We either LOVE the idea of God, or we FEAR it. The mind will intellectualize the final decision and convince itself it makes sense, and it will be right, because, as Napoleon Hill famously stated: “Everything a mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Some of you will not be happy to read this post, some may even become angry. That is not my intention. I would love to be religious, but I just know too much to simply believe in some book, which makes no sense. God is a totally another subject and I will write about that in my next Sunday’s post.

Anyone openly and sincerely embracing the message of what is being written here, will have to admit it fits our reality. God will always remain a possibility. But religion is based on pure faith and hence it’s an emotional decision. Have a great Sunday everybody, wherever you are.
